Sonoma Valley Unified School District
is a Spanish/English dual immersion school, providing all students with
the opportunity to become bilingual, biliterate and bicultural. Begun
in 1998 with one kindergarten class and a $1,000,000 federal grant, dual
immersion now spans grades K-5 at Flowery and grades 6-8 at Adele
Harrison Middle School. We are proud to offer this high quality program
of choice for Sonoma County families, and are committed to educating all
children for success in a global society.
On May 1st, seniors who had been dual immersion students at Flowery School returned to Flowery for a visit. They were honored at a school wide sing-along, attended a reception, spent time with
students during recess and visited 4th and 5th grade classes to
answer questions about high school and applying to college. All of the visiting alumni
are college bound. They will be attending Marymount College, Santa Rosa
JC, Cuesta College, American University, New York University, Sonoma
State University, University of Portland, Humboldt State University and University of the Pacific.
